Constable 200 years in Hampstead - at Burgh House

Although the English Romanic painter, Constable, is associated with Suffolk, he actually lived for some time in Hampstead and was inspired by views of the village and the Heath. Marking the 200th anniversary of his first visit to the area, Rebecca Lodge and Ashley Hannebrink are curating the Constable and accompanying exhibition, ‘Imaging and Imagining Hampstead Heath’, at Burgh House. Seven original works have been loaned by the Victoria and Albert Museum and the associated exhibition is supplemented by a series of talks and walks.
Tom Boyle talked with the Curators at Burgh House & Hampstead Museum, which is at: New End Square, London, NW3 1LT
Opening times: 12-5pm – Wednesday to Friday and Sunday. FREE entry. Duration: 10 October to 7 April. Email: info@BurghHouse.org.uk, Tel: 0207 431 0144
