Free Space Gallery
The recent re building of the Kentish Town Health Centre in Bartholomew Road saw the introduction of space for the arts. Following the idea that art is good for social health, the health centre provides support for cutting edge artistic works in its free gallery. Individual artists, as well as schools and community centres, can exhibit there and at a second premises in Queen’s Crescent. Talks, discussions and performance arts are also being developed. David Michaels of Camden Community Radio went to talk to Melissa Hardwick, Arts Manager and Curator at Free Space Gallery about how this unique space works and about the forthcoming exhibitions by the Leighton Project and by acclaimed Iraqi artist, Emad Altaay Modern.
Crossrail Station Designs
Crossrail is a new train line that will run from Maidenhead and Heathrow in the west to Shenfield and Abbey Wood in the east. It will cost £16 billion and increase London’s train capacity by 10%. The designs for 8 central London stations were released in November. CCRadio’s Harriet Bird went to check them out and spoke to leading thinkers in London design and transport to see what they make of the plans.

Why don't you Try Swimming?
A new initiative in Camden aims to give disabled people and people over the age of 45 the chance to start swimming. Harriet Bird talks to Lucy Wilson about the scheme and finds out how you could take advantage of free swimming lessons, water confidence sessions or have a go at something called deep water jogging!

Women and Health Camden
Matina Grebener talks to Claire Floyd, the Director of Women and Health in Camden. Women and Health offers a wide variety of affordable health services including counselling. The counselling is extremely popular and people often want to continue after the six week cognitive behaviour therapy sessions offered. There is a sliding scale of charges for women. At the weekends, the centre offers services for men and women, although these cost more than the weekday services.
